Turton F.C. are an association football club based in Edgworth, in the North Turton district of Blackburn with Darwen, Lancashire, England. Turton are the oldest football club in the North West and are recognised as being the first to introduce the modern "no hands" game in Lancashire
They are members of the Lancashire Football Association, and in the 2011–12 season their senior team is playing in the West Lancashire League Division One, which is at the 12th level of the English football league system. Prior to playing in the West Lancashire League they were members of the Bolton Combination.

Turton FC play their home games at the Thomason Fold Ground in the village of Edgworth. The club's colours are white and navy blue shirts and navy blue shorts. They do not produce a programme for their home games.
The current Turton FC's ground at Edgworth is about a mile away from the original Turton FC's ground in Chapeltown. This old ground is still in use, with Lancashire Amateur League team Old Boltonians having been the residents for over 50 years. This ground is possibly the oldest remaining football ground in the world . Recent research suggests a football match was played on these grounds ( Old Boltonions ) in 1830 .
The entrance to the ground is one of the strangest i've endured . Once you find the correct streets - you have to walk up an obscure cul-de-sac , negotiate a narrow alley passage way , cross over a farm road track , enter through a gate and finally , pass a tombstone monument . If you're heading for the changing room cabin , you need to go down a steep embankment too ! Its like entering a secret garden but in this case , its a football ground . Its the furthest i've walked since i worked for Royal Mail !

Opponents Dalton United Red/Black
In October 2004 Dalton United became the first team to beat Kirkham & Wesham , now AFC Fylde , since January 2003, a record that had spanned 21 months. The run finally ended when Dalton beat Kirkham & Wesham 1-0 in a league match
Changing Rooms
Turton are defending this goal in the first half
After losing their previous home match 9-0 to Longridge , bottom club Turton are putting in tremendous effort and holding third place Dalton United until a goalkeeping error on the edge of the penalty area allows United to score into an empty net . Unfortunate for the keeper and his team mates as there wasn't much between the teams at this stage . United scored a second soon after and i suppose everyone expected the ' Tigers ' to disintegrate .
Half - Time Turton 0-2 Dalton United
Dalton celebrate - Turton keeper showed great character by putting in a solid performance especially in the second half.

After the restart the Tigers enjoyed most of the play and were unfortunate not to reduce the arrears . Their tall striker guilty of missing the target , United were restricted to few chances but managed to hold on for a narrow victory .

The referee didn't allow any injury time whatsoever . I timed the second half on my stopwatch . There had been a hold up in play several times in the second half and i would have expected 2-3 minutes of added time .
Match Officials 8/10 Good composure and astute but did not allow any injury time .
I know we were had to endure a cold winter downpour near the end and although a relief to hear the final whistle , the match officials were a tad slack on the correct allotted time .
One Direction Home !
A friendly venue and ground with plenty of charisma and charm .
