Egypt Pyramids Luxor Abu Simbel Valley Of The Kings 2006

Lost all my photos on my first trip to the Pyramids so i went back from Sharm El Sheikh via a seven hour coach journey over the suez canal and into Cairo .
The Pyramids appear like a mirage , not in the middle of a desert as you may assume but from the dirt ridden Cairo rivers and City walls . I managed to find a guide who sorted me out with a horse and off we galloped into Giza on horseback at 7 am in the morning , not a tourist in sight .

Tutankhamun

Valley Of The Kings

The 1922 discovery by Howard Carter and George Herbert, 5th Earl of Carnarvon of Tutankhamun's nearly intact tomb received worldwide press coverage .

The tomb is quite small compared to others .For many years, rumours of a "Curse of the Pharaohs" (probably fueled by newspapers seeking sales at the time of the discovery) persisted, emphasizing the early death of some of those who had first entered the tomb. However, a recent study of journals and death records indicates no statistical difference between the age of death of those who entered the tomb and those on the expedition who did not.

Tomb Of King Tut

Hatshepsut Temple

Hatshepsut ; meaning Foremost of Noble Ladies;[4] 1508–1458 BC) was the fifth pharaoh of the eighteenth dynasty of Ancient Egypt. She is generally regarded by Egyptologists as one of the most successful pharaohs, reigning longer than any other woman of an indigenous Egyptian dynasty.

Abu Simbel temples

The Abu Simbel temples are two massive rock temples in Abu Simbel in Nubia, southern Egypt. They are situated on the western bank of Lake Nasser, about 230 km southwest of Aswan (about 300 km by road). The complex is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the "Nubian Monuments," which run from Abu Simbel downriver to Philae (near Aswan).

Nice 1 Ronnie

You stole my Thunder !!!!! Ronnie !!!!! You picture taking isn't as good either !

The twin temples were originally carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II in the 13th century BC, as a lasting monument to himself and his queen Nefertari, to commemorate his alleged victory at the Battle of Kadesh, and to intimidate his Nubian neighbors. However, the complex was relocated in its entirety in 1968, on an artificial hill made from a domed structure, high above the Aswan High Dam reservoir.

Hot Air Balloon

Scottie Ronnie had a great idea to go over the Valley of The Kings and The Nile in a hot air balloon . Yeh !
