Preston North End Sir Tom Finney 90th Birthday Special

The Preston Plumber

Couldn't resist a trip to Deepdale , down the legendary Sir Tom Finney Way and purchase tickets for the special Sir Tom Finney Birthday celebrations against MK Dons . At £10 for adults and £5 for Senior Citezens you can't complain about the clubs commitment and gesture to all football supporters ; not to mention the many special offers and promotions that are on-going . It's Preston Guild year too which is held every 20 years .

Not only an amazing tribute to Sir Tom but somewhere for the public to sit and enjoy with Moor Park just over the road .

North End have enhanced Deepdale Stadium with a terrific mural of Sir Tom adorning The Sir Tom Finney Stand - The old West Stand were i used to go as a boy .

The club have produced a stunning collectors edition souvenir programme .

Dave Lewis's last attended PNE matches were Sir Tom's Testimonial in September 1960 and last ever game against Luton . ' I was stood against the players entrance tunnel wall directly behind Tom as he walked out and later made his farewell speech . The Old Pavillion in them days . I nearly always stood there , i remember the day well .'
I'm excited about seeing the new stadium and celebrating Sir Tom's Birthday . Its over fifty years since i last attended a game there .

Dave with the Lancashire Evening Post , souvenir programme and match ticket. I'll be watching from The Tom Finney Stand of course .

View of the location and family home of Sir Tom

Tom used to walk to the ground from his home along Rose Lane - takes about 5-10 minutes - there's several short cuts but this is the most likely approach to the stadium . Probably had his wheel barrow with him and plumbers tools !
