Peter McGuigan ( Chairman ) Stand

Morecambe is a resort town in the City of Lancaster more famous for Eric Morecambe of the Morecambe and Wise comedy duo but nothing comical about this away trip !
It seemed to take ages to get to the ground from junction 34 of the M6 , almost one hour to travel 6 miles .
On arrival i gambled and drove up a side street residential area , only 2 minutes walk to the away support side of the ground laden with several coaches and queues of North end fans waiting to get inside .

Once inside i realised i was in an all standing modern terrace enclosure with an overspill area behind the goal . Immediately to my right was The Sports Facility Building with securiy rooms and the North Terrace . Not much room here and i was told not to enter this area .
Bay Radio away stand

I must admit , the view was stunning , the ground was perfect for generating a terrific atmosphere . The game started and North End went ahead through Maclean ,only a minute into the game and the opposite home terrace was silenced .
The North End fans were buzzing but more disgruntled away fans were still coming in annoyed at missing the early goal .
Home Stand

Stewards moved Morecambe fans from the North Stand Sports Facility Scoreboard section to allow in North End supporters who were beginning to out number the home fans .


North End were playing some neat football and were 2-0 up when the German new signing Tsoumou netted with only Roche to beat . Half time and time to join the food queue along a narrow passage way behind the stand .
In the second half Barry Roche is pelted with empty plastic bottles and the Morecambe keeper is the butt of jokes and lewd remarks . Morecambe send on Gary Macdonald and in the last ten minutes score twice to level the score .The game is heading for penalties as both sides almost find a late winner . No extra time so penalty kicks will decide the outcome towards the home supporters goal .
Its a tense finale but North End hold their nerve to send their extatic and tumultuous following home happy after a massive pitch invasion to celebrate .
