The entrance to the ground is hidden away halfway down St James Street , several cars went past the entrance . You're greeted by a decent sized car park and a Church style building with name board and steps leading to the main club lounge . The only turnstile and narrow passage way are to the right next to the exit gates . Turnstile operator is a swell guy .

Entrance

Daisy Hill football club was formed in 1894 and reformed in 1951 using the nearby cricket ground until 1957 when they moved to their present home .
After a missed penalty and disallowed goal the Daisies probably thought it wasn't their day . They continued to press forward and were eventually rewarded in the 34th minute when Craig Xeureb fired home low to the keepers left.

Players celebrate the opening and eventual winning goal .

Not much between the teams though , Formby were looking capable of finding an equaliser .
Half Yime Daisy Hill 1-0 Formby .

Dugouts pitchside and stand Snack Bar does an awesome Hot dog £2 and mug of coffee 80p Other snacks are very reasonable . Bar inside .

Second Half , the visitors dominate most of the play without finding a clinical opening ,the Daisies are competent and well drilled . They're prepared to take the ball to the corners and break up play but not afraid to push for goal when the opportunity occurs .

Daisy hill attacking the opposite goal to the clubhouse with an expanse of land behind and subbuteo 1960's style pole fence surround forming a curved arc aound the goal line .

Daisy Hill see out the closing minutes of added time to secure another win and continue their progress up the table .
Two well matched teams could have gone either way .

Match officials - fair 6/10 , bit whistle and flag happy breaking the game up not helped by having no-one to retrieve the ball in certain areas . At this level i know everyone has to do their bit but could have done with volunteers behind the open expanse goal . Mind you , it suits 'The Daisies ' game of booting the ball out . One pole next to the old dugout needs repairing , looks like someone has sewn through it .

Could have taken the easy option and made the short journey to Ewood Park but decided on another Park instead , Wincham Park , home of Witton Albion established in 1887 . Albion moved to their present location off Chapel street in 1989 from their old ground in the town centre ; i was amazed how close they are to their rivals ( Northwich Victoria . ) In fact i went down the wrong road and ended up there . I can't be the only one to do this , well it was dark even at six o' clock . When i arrived there was ample parking space , guided by a club steward , a polite elderly gentleman . Started thinking about my camera's vunerability in the dark , useless at night photos . I've been dropping hints all week about my wish list for my Birthday or Christmas , a more up to date compact camera . Players were arriving from both teams , spotted Benny Phillips , the Radcliffe manager back at one of his old stomping grounds . No programme/paper on me otherwise i'd have tried to grab a few autographs , players from both teams seemed relaxed and in ' great spirits . Now 's the time to catch 'em . ' I wondered how many had just finished a days shift ?

Picked up a programme from a stall set up opposite the turnstile entrance and a team sheet from the club lounge . The place was spotless , locals terrific , reminding me of the unbeaten run the club are on and not to mention the ' other lot ! ' Below - The Club Lounge/bar - pies - food/drinks
Managed to get a quick look at the club shop and museum before the game got under way .

Albion didn't mess about , a ' blitzkreig ' of penetrating moves towards the Boro' goal , rapid interchange passing , poceeding without intrepedation or regard down the flanks and centre . Boro were tossed one way , then another . Chances were going begging , amazingly Boro managed to break out with a through ball to Ben Wharton finding himself in ' hectres of space ' only the keeper to beat but fails to finish , Cooper saving . The Albion onslaught continues , minutes before the break Newman fires home a richly deserved opening . Half Time Witton Albion 1-0 Radcliffe Boro . Some of these Albion players need to be on a scouts list , they're a cut above the norm for this level .

The John Yarwood Terrace and the Albion Tie

There's a few characters in the ground tonight .

Resumption of the game halts my raiding of the club shop , managed to find a few gems including the FA Cup 2nd Round tie PNE v Witton programme from 1991 . Albion continue to make the running , Titchinner pokes the ball home from a couple of feet before Andrews makes it 3-0 to Albion with a sweetly struck penalty , high to the 'keepers left in the 69th minute . Albions 2nd goal and substitutes warming up -one with a Premier League hairstyle !
