New York Yankees v Tampa Bay Devil Rays Yankee Stadium 2005
Me and The Moss Meister doing what you do in New York 24/7
The Moss Meister wasn't having it ! Everyone in New York said we wouldn't get tickets for Yankee Stadium but the Moss Meister hadn't come all this way to whistle ' Dixie !' Off we headed to the Bronx and sure enough got a couple of tickets not too far from Home Plate . Superb !! $90 each !
On The Six
Yankee Stadium was a stadium located in The Bronx in New York City, New York. It was the home ballpark of the New York Yankees from 1923 to 1973 and from 1976 to 2008. A new stadium is now in use .
Ground Capacity in 2005 was 56,936
On leaving the stadium we heard a few comments about the Moss Meister 's Atlanta Braves jersey . 'The Braves suck ! ' It was like being in Manchester with a Liverpool top on ! We were ready for a ' Rumble in the Bronx . ' Lucky for the Moss-Meister his jersey had Shefield on the back - Gary Sheffield used to play for The Yankees so that was fine . Phew !!!
The stadium's nickname, "The House That Ruth Built", is derived from Babe Ruth, the iconic baseball superstar whose prime years coincided with the stadium's opening and the beginning of the Yankees' winning history.
