Parked up close to  the Retail Shopping area near the Robin Park complex but wasn't quite sure i was in the right place until i noticed the athletics track as there's another sports complex nearby .Wigan Robin Park play their home games at the Robin Park Arena on Loire Drive, adjacent to the DW Stadium . The Robins are sitting pretty at the top of their Division and have already been promoted . The club have reduced admission prices for this fixture as a thank you gesture to all fans .
I've seen WRP against Oldham Boro in one of their rare defeats earlier this season albeit a thrilling cup tie under poor lighting  at Oldham RL Club . They have some strong , physical , talented players who've showed great character throughout the season , maintaining high standards .
They're also a tight knit bunch and share light hearted banter with the local fans .

Ashton Town have been struggling near the bottom all season but for 43 minutes kept the promoted Robins down to three goals . The killer blow was conceding two more on the stroke of half-time . Robin Park showed clinical  finishing with rapid movement off the ball causing  most of Town's problems . Town did see a shot come back off the post but created little overall . Half Time WRP 5-0 Ashton Town

WRP add  six more goals during the second half to finish the rout 11-0  .  Town's high defensive line was easily exposed  ,  could probably have done with a sweeper or ' The Great Wall Of China ' playing behind the two central defenders reducing the threat of WRP getting in behind . Credit The Robins though for being nifty and unforgiving  .  Town kept going but it was an uphill struggle all afternoon ,  they're a lot better than this result suggests . Town substituted  their most dangerous attacking player who posed a strong physical threat to the Robins defence .

Wigan arrive at The Emirates in good form looking to continue to pull away from the relegation places , Arsenal are hoping to consolidate third place and an automatic Champions League spot by keeping clear of Tottenham , Chelsea and Newcastle .

Arsenal look dangerous from the kick-off but fail to convert their early chances . Arteta picks up an injury whist Wigan continue , moving the ball forward to Moses who's electric pace and superb ball control creates an opening and a shock opening goal by Di-Santo . Wigan's tiny following contingent are absolutely ecstatic . In the eight minute Gomez scrambles the ball in from close range . Wigan have created two chances and scored two goals in rapid succession . The Arsenal fans are in disbelief but rally and get behind thier team only to be frustrated even more when The Latics go close again . The misery for The Gunners is compounded by several near misses and poor finishing by their beloved team . Wigan have shown its no fluke with recent winning results agaist some top sides .

Wigan still leading 2-0

Arsenal create more chances and Vermaelen heads home to reduce the arrears .
Half-Time 2-1 to Wigan

The second half sees The Gunners pressing for an equaliser but Moses breaks away for The Latics and hits a tame shot at goal . For once its a let off for Arsenal as Wigan have been ruthless until now . Wigan hold on to take three valuable points and send their fans back to the North West ' happy as Larry ! '

Strange - Live near Wigan but don't attend Wigan home games - was unable to obtain a ticket from Wigan Athletic but got 2 tickets in the Clock End from the Arsenal website delivered to my address , no problem . That's  segregation for you ! And ......£7 extra each ticket ( Wigan section  £34 )

Home fans and staff were terrific - very friendly .

Warrington Town F.C. are a football club based in Warrington, Cheshire, England. They were established in 1949 under the name of Stockton Heath Albion. In 1961, they changed to their present name Warrington Town.

Warrington embraced the industrial revolution becoming a manufacturing town and a centre of steel (particularly wire), textiles, brewing, tanning and chemical industries. The navigational properties of the river Mersey were improved, canals were built, and the town grew yet more prosperous and popular. When the age of steam came, Warrington naturally welcomed it, both as a means of transport and as a source of power for its mills. The Town is well known for Warrington Wolves Rugby League .

The ground is on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal in the shadow of the imposing Cantilever Bridge which dominates the areas skyline, and from which the ground takes its name.

Today's opponents AFC Fylde will be hoping to coast to victory and consolidate their top position in the league  backed by ' The In Crowd . '

The first half is dominated by 'The Coasters' but a mixture of poor finishing and frantic defending results in a 0-0 scoreline at the break

More pressure on the 'Yellows' goal

Richie Allen looks dangerous in the second half and has an uncanny knack of appearing aloof , loosing defenders , sneaking in unannounced . Reminds me of Rooney the way he creates space betwwen the midfield and attacking third of the pitch .. Didn't surprise me when he opened the scoring after 58 minutes with a sweetly hit shot , low inside the post , curling tantalizing beyond the 'keepers reach  , nestling in the corner of the net . I'd man mark him , no question ; second time i've seen him and he's as crafty as they come . Uses his body well to shrug off opponents and 'ghosts' in from nowhere .

Town begin to create more and are unlucky to see a shot hit the crossbar after a melee in the box . The Coasters defence is stern with the central defenders putting in a solid shift . Fylde hang on for an important hard earned victory . Warrington put in a decent display , frustrating The Coasters throughout the match .
AFC Fylde need to defeat Salford City in their next match to take the tiltle or it may go to the wire .
